The main service P-MP opens up is bandwidth-on-demand, or by-the-bit pricing. I'm not sure though how receptive companies are to this new pricing model.

P-MP is much much cheaper to implement that P-P -- it allows BBFW to address more buildings with fewer antennas -- which should goose margins nicely. Also allows WCII to allocate spectrum much more efficiently.

There's tons of technical analysis, including performance and robustness of P-MP, buried on the Last Mile thread.
