AJ Re <<there will be a lot of games, like Descent-3 that will have Pentium-III specific features. Since I assume that has to do with the SSE instruction set, I just want to be sure I have straight in my mind which AMD offerring will be compatible. I know 3DNow is very powerful, but I have to be compatible first.>>

3DNow has a very large installed base and virtually all new games support it, they got to be stupid not to. There is no problem with regard to support for 3Dnow!. You can get a full list of software vendors who support 3Dnow! at AMD's website.

I am not going on any vacation soon, I just got back from an extended one last month. :-)
