If you knew anything about the announcement, you wouldn't be surprised. But then, you follow Wexler, so why should I expect you to do any due diligence?

The AFIS market is undergirded by the Lockheed Martin database of fingerprint images. Three viable companies are certified by the FBI to supply live scan hardware devices to feed this image-matching system. IDX is one of the three and has the largest market share. However, the live scan devices were not the subject of this announcement. No mention of IDX? You didn't see any mention of IDX competition in the announcement, either. This event will help develop the AFIS market for IDX and its two competitors.

Finally, this side of the business has nothing to do with the network security/password elimination authentication products. It is the lower-margin side of the bio-ID business.
