There I put my finger on the hitch!! You feel I treat you as 'Dumb Yankees', eh? Actually, such a feeling of yours is a quintessential instance of YOUR inferiority complex with regard to the European culture!
Indeed, too many Americans are prejudiced towards European gentlemen in that they resent their cultural parade in the same way as a sailor would mistrust a gusty wind.... Hence, TD calling me 'arrogant' or 'elitist'!
Now, let me share an insider secret with you, benighted Yankees: Truly arrogant, swanky Europeans wouldn't give a toss about chatting with dumb Americans, they'd never sweat it on discussing international --even less US-- politics with you guys! After all, I bet you whatever money I'm the only Europe-based oddball who's been for so long around on SI. As I put it earlier on, interactivity brings everybody level with everybody else --that's unbearable for most arrogant folks and that's why, besides a couple of bilingual Canucks, you won't find many foreigners on SI.
