Last post, and then I really am leaving. (Personal rule of mine- when feeling unhappy or uncomfortable on a thread, leave- who needs to get exercised in cyberlife, when there's real life to deal with). It''s just that I have been here for over three years- since the beginning- and so tend to gravitate here as a home. And I did think you wanted to talk about what was going on in terms of what was seen as "acceptable" or not, and why, which is what I was trying to do.
You owe no one an apology, CH doesn't either. But what you graciously said and what CH refuses to say is that a lot of people were made uncomfortable, whether the posts were just a piece of meaningless froth or not, and you regret that. That's not accepting censorship as CH calls it, it's just being sensitive to other's perceptions and feelings, which I think you have been (to the point you must want to kick the dog), but is sadly lacking here overall. He didn't need to try to tear me to shreds over it, to prove I was the one with some kind of problem.
ANyway, as far as picking on CH, substitute ANY name in those posts and I'd have said the same thing.
The discussion is fruitless, he'll post what he wants; the rest of us be damned. And that's certainly his prerogative. As it is ours to either stay or leave. And for now, I'm taking a break! |
