Marty, I think a considerable amount of the short position is a hedge against the bonds. It sure doesn't seem that the shorts are particularly worried. Perhaps you're right, and there will be a buy the news reaction. If the market was as efficient as you assume, it would be as interesting as bank CDs. Believe it or not, I wouldn't mind seeing a nice squeeze. I could sell more naked calls at inflated prices, and the longs would have an opportunity to get out whole. We shall see.
