Well, I am afraid I am going to have to wreck my standing with you, Christopher, by getting involved in this discussion.
I understand that you are smarting, and that you feel unfairly singled out for something that is indeed far less objectionable than the constant insult-slinging exchanges that are becoming more and more the norm here.
But that is no justification for branding your critics as "puritans," would-be "censors," and "philistines," or for attributing their supposed inability to "fight fair" to their sex (female). For one thing, you are overlooking the fact that some of the men here expressed discomfort with your "badinage." For another, it only shows that you are not "fighting fair."
For example, you say this, in a message to penni, telling her, in effect, that she was reading things into your posts that weren't there:
I was every bit as far away from any intimate areas as you are when you shake hands with a man. Maybe I'm an insensitive male, but I don't see that as bordering on a very intimate sexual act.
That sounds awfully disingenuous to me. I for one got the distinct impression that you were doing your best -- cyberwise, of course <gg> -- to get as close as you could to some intimate areas. For example:
(Hmmm. Nicely salty. Touch of humus, not at all unpleasant. I think we will draw the public veil upon this moment while I try whether I can start laving my way upward without protest.)
And yes, my palms are sweating. But it is only because my laving has reached the ankles of my Adored. Any man's palms would be sweating under the excitement of the anticipation that lies before (or, perhaps more accurately, above) me
By 10:00 Wednesday I expect to be a lot further toward my goal than Edwarda's ankle. Anything I take a bite out of by then would probably hurt her a whole lot worse! <g>
From down here I would call the inside of your knees quite beautiful. And soon, I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills . . .
Just setting the record straight. Otherwise, I say: Enough already! Enough of this discussion!
