"I'd say this is good news but who knows!"

Hi Kevin- I read the Kennard quotes quickly the first time and saw some post replies that felt it was very good news. I thought I had missed something, so went back and reread it more carefully. In all honesty, I did not see anything that would move the stock. Kennard has maintained that viewpoint all along. The fact that he refused a probe doesn't kabash the open access issue, and won't stop future states/cities from challenging T.

Personally, I am still recovering from Armstrong's statements: "AtHome's business of using cable modems to hook up Internet users might not be a 'great strategic fit' with Excite's web portal service." And later adding that ATHM should consider spinning off Excite. To me, those statements really undermined the Excite@Home game plan and pointed to possible strife among Armstrong and Excite@Home management. How could we as shareholders be told a few months ago the Excite/AtHome combination was such a wonderful strategic fit, and now hear it would be best for AtHome to go it alone? If Armstrong indeed made those comments in public, he pulled a real Brutus. This was not good public relations for Excite@Home. Armstrong's words also added credence to the rumors of Excite spin off talks. Then along comes rumors of T/AOL talks, and the knife is twisted in ATHM.

I would like Excite@Home management to come public and reaffirm the company's direction. Right now I am clueless.

If this post doesn't make sense, I apologize. I am just doing some aloud thinking.

Good luck All!

Ed
