Wed 11 Aug 99 News Release
Mr. Brian Findlay reports
The Black Tusk Energy Brazcau River 100/6-27-48-12 W5M well, located in the
Brazeau River area of central Alberta, has been drilled to total depth and
logged. Preliminary evaluation of drilling and logging results indicate the
Shunda formation was encountered as anticipated and appears similar to
other wells in the area which produce from the Shunda formation. Production
casing is currently being run with completion operations panned to commence
within 14 days and tie in to Black Tusk's production facilities in the
fourth quarter of 1999. Black Tusk holds an 87.5-per-cent revenue net
interest in this well with the remaining interest held by Charger Energy
Inc. and Extreme Energy Inc.
Three wells have recently been drilled to the Shunda formation (sections
15, 16, and 21, Township 48, Range 12 W5M) in the immediate area of Black
Tusks lands. Each of these wells is capable of producing in excess of 10
million cubic feet per day of liquid-rich gas (equivalent to approximately
1,000 barrels of oil per day). Black Tusk's land holding in the area
currently contain three wellbores that have been drilled through the Shunda
formation. Black Tusk's lands are situated up-dip from the off-setting
wells and and have comparable reservoir thickness and porosity.
