Jeff,

I applaud this move! There will be critics who might maintain that fees aren't consistent with the spirit of the Internet, and that fees restrict freedom of expression. However, I maintain that freedom of expression and "quality of life", as you say, must be defended when under attack from KOOKS and other troublemakers who thrive on disrupting the very free exchange of ideas that makes SI such a valuable web site.

Again, thank you for imposing the new fee--IMHO,it indeed will go a long way in making SI a more productive and effective site. My hope is that it will eventually put this particular thread out of business.
