Rich & Don, Thank you for sharing that dialog with the thread!

Question for all readers: It would seem to me that Wind's efforts to gain ‘shelf space' as the specified platform are key to their future prospects and their worth as an investment. Can readers who are more knowledgeable than I comment on the relative success Wind is having in this area? Preferably on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being dead in the water and 10 being on track to have >50% market share (One can dream, no?). [I see the announcements/press releases, but have a hard time discerning their relative merits.]

Given that I am not in the software industry (and have the hubris to think I can learn about something I don't know [Post 6056]), I have two concern's about Wind's ability to win share: 1) Will their financial opportunity be large enough? (…to compensate us for our present risk) [hard to answer today, which is why I asked the question above], and 2) Will their market share be large enough that there will be a viable pool of programming talent for the companies who want to spec their products? I'll grant that the answer to this second question may be readily available and apparent to software industry participants today, but for those of us outside, any primary data or observations you'd care to share would be appreciated. (Perhaps Wind's development tools greatly reduce the need for specialized skills. If you can comment on this, please do so. I just don't want to see: great platform + too few programmers = zero sales.)
