Hmmm ... Good thing it doesn't rain much there.

John,

Apparently you are unacquainted with the famous Arizona Monsoon season (which is currently at its height).

When I lived in Tucson, you could almost set your watch by the late afternoon thunderstorms that would form up in the surrounding mountains and then come plunging in to the valley almost every day.

But the flowers sure are pretty in September... :0)
