RHAT is about the open software movement, NOT LINUX Open Software IS RUNNING THE INTERNET Over half the web servers are ran by Apache. Who knows how much Perl scripts are out their pumping HTML. Red Hat will make money from support not giving away a free operating system. Just like Netscape. They also have a cluster OS that for 150k can turn a bunch a 486's into a SUPERCOMPUTER. Which is why SGI is dumping Cray. eet.com I told my Dilbert bosses two years ago about Linux and they gave me the "It's just another version of Unix". Now, we're a partner with Red Hat and that person is fired. People who say this are the ones who don't know what is going on. It's about the open software movement. It's not college kids anymore supporting this movement. Its IBM, Oracle, Nortel, etc providing code. It is about HOW TO WRITE SOFTWARE Also, we are a service economy. Whoever can create the service will win big. Thank God for the government's case or MSFT would have already reloaded their guns many times. It's hard to compete with free and ten times better. I can't justify the market valuation, but I couldn't comprehend YHOO at 6 Billion. MH
