Ballard isn't even worthy of slamming. It's a scam corporation trying desperately, in these last few weeks, to convert it's PEM cell from using hydrogen to methanol fuel.

Why? Reason #1; Because there will never be a multi-100 billion dollar hydrogen infrastructure to fuel consumer PEM cells with. Never. This is a foregone conclusion. Bulk hydrogen usage is suitable only for space exploration organizations (NASA) where cost is incidental to need.

Reason #2; That on-board reformation of methanol to hydrogen reduces PEM cell efficiency to 33% or less, comparable to a run-of-the-mill IC auto engine. If that's the case, then why bother? Ballard knows this, hence the desperate, 11th hour switch to direct methanol injection.

If Ballard is successful in injecting straight methanol into the PEM cell for direct use without reformation, it will be interesting to see what the generation efficiency and emmissions will be.

You clearly haven't done your homework. GLE has demonstrated a working SOFC prototype, which is currently under examination by Delphi and BMW. The cell allows for direct use of natural gas and other fuels, without the need for fuel reformation to hydrogen prior to use in the cell.
Go back, read through the previous posts, and then hang your head in shame, Bugssy.
