The article properly read in full manifests an industry problem rather than a 3Com specific problem. It even states that Lucent was having similar problems in different areas, not to mention other companies. The cable modem equipment business is in its nascent stages and we should not be alarmed at these minor glitches, especially when they are industry wide. Don't forget that CSCO's spin machine will do anything to eliminate COMS as a future competitor. Remember it was COMS that aided in the creation of Juniper, which is supposed to have a kick ass Router which will soon whip CSCOs best Routers. WCOM seems to agree and they have signed contracts with JNPR. Its funny how Cisco tries to magnify a little glitch in a nascent market. Don't forget a lot of people have a lot invested in Cisco and they have to do what ever they can to justify its ridiculous valuations.
