Re: " The stock appreciated 33% over the next four months before Kurlak finally threw in the towel in December of 98, raising both his long term and short term rating with INTC at a split adjusted price of $60"

You may very well have a valid point but remember hindsight is always 20/20. I remember (cause it cost me plenty) when Merryl's Tom Krulak's timing, and to me CNBC'S hype reporting, were the cause/excuse to stifle a run of Intel back then.

To illustrate; yesterday BankOfBoston's Dan Niles changed his call on Dell and yes CNBC mentioned it and then went on to their more important agenda's. But this morning when Merryl -due to a new analyst, merely restated their call on Dell CNBC excessively reported it stressing as if it was a new downword warning. This gave the excuse to sell the stock to those who wish to manipulate it down.

IMO Dan Niles change was much more of an indication than Merryl's new analyst's statement which really hadn't made any change.
