ALL: Remembering how terrible Mondays have been lately, due to such low volume. . .I think it wise to take careful note of those big leaders that have perked up the past few days.

We buy on dips. . . so it is wise to anticipate the next group of dips. . . a further wise move would be to "play" the stocks that we hope to end up with. . . rather than automatically playing DCLK and CMGI on the dips. . .it might be wise to start cherry picking the group and buy those that we wish to hold into next year.

I'm having a hard time believing that Intel will see 62 again near-term. . .it is just way too strong. Starting positions in the beaten downs like T, WCOM, LU can't be all that bad a thing here. . . I don't see blue chips falling more than 10 percent and probably not more than 5 percent, even if we hit another big decline. . . which is still possible. So we are "close enough", IMO. . . I'll be looking for T on the higher side. . 46-47.

Another subject: When the bottom gets hit and the big money returns. . .there will not be enough time to "jump" back in. . . remember when the big money sold off? About a dozen online brokerages were mysteriously unavailable all day long. . .either online or by phone. We watched in horror while being unable to trade. I expect the same thing when the market does make a REAL turn.

So the wise trader/investor will begin taking new positions on the way down. . just before the turn.

But then the question remains. . . how rough of a time will we have the rest of the year? I have said many times that I think it will be quite volatile and roller-coaster-like all the way through to the end of the year, when we hit that big incline beginning on January 3.

So the definition of "jumping in" may need to be clarified. . .and strategies considered, where we take positions in phases. . or set our longest-term holds first. . .and designate the rolling traders separately.

I think the key to getting through the turmoil expected between now and the end of the year. . . is to make sure your buys are always at the rock bottom and your sells are near the top. . . and don't worry about the rest. . . but like any momentum play. . . I will hold a core position long and untraded.
