Re:"According to the Chistopher Yates article PC Week Labs called the leading PC manufacturers (Compaq, Dell,
Gateway, IBM, Micron and others), and, strangely, none could (or would) ship an Intel Pentium III system to our
labs. Yet PC Magazine says they tested head to head Athlon's and Plll's and the Editors choice was the Pentium
lll-Dell Dimension XPS T600."

Herb,

DELL got the editor's choice, not Intel. I'm not surprised that PC Week was
not willing to stick their neck out just yet. Will Dell when they start losing
performance comparisons?

" Our Editors' Choice in this roundup, the
Pentium III-based Dell Dimension XPS
T600 ($2,678 direct), isn't the winner
in the AMD-versus-Intel war--it's a
winner in the best-buy-for-the-customer
war. We were particularly impressed with
this PC because of what Dell has added
to it to differentiate from the
competition.
