I am waiting for the day when "From the Analyst" tells us what the significance is for the following raw data...

Total number of changes on the charts : 536
Total number of Buys : 55
Total number of Sells : 29
Total number of stocks reversing up into X's : 269
Total number of stocks reversing down into O's: 29
Total number of charts adding X's : 379
Total number of charts adding O's : 157

There must be some rule of thumb or statistical studies someone has done like, "when # of charts adding X's exceeds number adding O's by 4-to-1 ratio, do this or that", or "when # of stocks reversing to X's exceed # reversing to O's, means this or that". Otherwise, these number are just fodder. I started keeping a ratio of # new buys to # of new sells awhile back. I should probably keep track of its 10DMA as well. So far, since 7/16, the ratio has been under 1.0... until yesterday. Does that have some real significance? I don't know. Somebody please tell me! :-)
