I didn't say giving away software should be illegal, I said giving away software to put another company out of business should be. Mosaic was not from a company, it was from a government lab and truly free. You can still get it, too. The direct commercial spinoff from NCSA, Spyglass, is struggling because they somehow managed to give away their code to Microsoft in some bizarre deal where they got license fees only for Windows 3.1 browsers. That must have taken really incredible negotiating skill.

I don't expect to convince the Microsoft suckups around here of anything, as a matter of fact. You like the cult of Bill, that's your business. I just thought the article was interesting.
