Jules - concerning K6 and Pentium II performance -

The following quote comes from the Techweb site. Perhaps the K6 has been overhyped!

From the URL :

techweb.com

"Some customers, such as computer resellers, are giving the K6

high marks. Mitsuba Corp., a systems integrator with $450

million in annual sales, will use the K6 processor with 512 Kbytes

of cache to power its Premier K6 line of desktop computers,

said Ken Martinez, director of marketing for Mitsuba, La Verne,

Calif.

"We have personally tested the processor, and have found the

performance midway between a 200-MHz MMX Pentium and a

Pentium II,
" he said. "Based on our tests, our customers tell us

that brand recognition will not be affected by performance or

compatibility issues, and that [problems associated with] the K5

are a tiny ghost in [AMD's] past."
