Hello baja,
sorry for the delay. Trading has been a frenzy lately and has left me drained ... you wrote:

I keep 5 day stats on the breakouts to track the performance of this system. It tells me about the health of the market overall too. Bear markets have failed breakouts, and bull markets allow the breakouts to fly.

>>Is this your favorite trading setup or just one of many? <<<
Its my favorite, but not over the last 30 days. ;-)

>>What are you using to screen these stocks near breakout so quickly? <<<

Excel spreadsheets and mathematical formulas.

Now that's helpful >:-/

>>>What is you average return per month on invested capital? <<<

Now I'll not give you a straight answer here. That is an offer for my ego to offer you any number in the sky. FWIW, never trust anyone's claim about their returns without the actual trading records. It's like asking a golfer his/her score after they golfed alone. Who knows? ;-)

>>Are you able to borrow stocks on downside breakouts<<<

I am about to open a Datek account because I hear that shorts are more avail there. My current broker has a poor short availability AND takes forever to confirm a short.

If there is very high volume at the BreakPoint AND if it's rallied a lot already (see % from breakpoint column), then you've got a good start for a daytrade short IMO.

Enjoy,
Joe
