It looks like the FCC can't do much right. Qualcomm beats it in court; Nextel has beat it in court. I like the suggestion of Qcom getting NextWave space, like Dallas! This may sound provincial but Qcom needs a presence here to dilute what political stroke its competitors may have. Nokia and Ericsson have large facilities here and are treated almost as if they are local companies. One of the articles says Nextel has spectrum here in Dallas, but I haven't the slightest idea which carrier that might be. As far as I know and hear, Nextel is not a factor in the market.

I am concerned that the FCC has a conflict of interest. It may be focusing on its commmerical desire to obtain the highest dollar revenue versus the best use of the spectrum. NextWave's wholesaler business plan sounded like the carriers' saviour to minimize capital expenditures and maximize use of spectrum and consumer usage.
