Talk City Makes Deal With Amazon.com Auctions for Online Community Sponsorship
ECommerce Leader Becomes Premiere Auctions Provider for Online Community

CAMPBELL, Calif., Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Talk City, Inc. (Nasdaq: TCTY),
a provider of online communities for businesses and consumers, today announced
that Amazon.com Auctions will become a major sponsor of its consumer community
site, talkcity.com.
Amazon.com Auctions has signed a contract to be the premiere auction
provider on Talk City. As part of the arrangement, Amazon.com Auctions has a
secured "slotting" presence on Talk City's Web pages. The deal is expected to
drive new users to Amazon.com's auction service, which was launched in at the
end of March of this year.
"Talk City's large user base and strong demographic make us a great fit
for Amazon.com Auctions," said Peter Friedman president and CEO of Talk City.
"We believe both communities will greatly benefit from this arrangement."
Talk City routinely outperforms community sites, such as Geocities and
theglobe.com, in terms of average time spent on site and per month for at home
users, according to Media Metrix.
