What a difference a couple of months make. Remember the day Rubin announced his resignation? Quick 200 point collapse in the market and then a huge rally. Yeltsin sick? no bid deal. At war with IRAQ? yawn.. Impeachment of the President? Don't waste my time. I recall commenting to another trader that nothing could kill this market; it's invinsible. We joked that Fleckenstein and David Tice's wives must sleep with one eye open and no loaded weapons in the house. Now we've survived war, impeachment, Yeltsin, Rubin, et al, and had major selloffs in certain sectors, certainly qualifying for "buying opportunities" and we're stuck fretting over an ECI or PPI report. The tide has definitely shifted to pessimism.
