yes,

short interest reached a high level
after the July 96 downdraft. Following that,
September to January were great months to
be invested in hightechs. We've seen a lot
of selling in the last 2 months and I
wouldn't be surprised that many shorts
entered recently, just being confident to
follow the trend. If this is the case,
they are shorting beaten down stocks.
Things are due for a rebound and I
believe good earnings will be coming soon.
We've seen companies like DELL and ADBE
report spectacular results recently. AMAT says
things are rebounding faster than expected
for semi-equip. Only networking is uncertain,
but that has REALLY been beaten up.

However, I always tend to be optimistic,
so take my comments for what they are
worth... 2cts.
