Just came back from SIGGRAPH.. The mode of SGI employees were very down.. Question: Why would SGI pick up the first day of their most significant annual show to announce the lay-off news?

Any way, for what's worth.. I think these moves are all positive for SGI.. For the last 18 months, RB has been cleaning up the mess that EM had created (i.e., NT and Cray should have never happened).

Now RB is doing it his way, (Focus Focus Focus)., and even maybe more significant, realizing that "when your marketing sucks, your products better have high margins".

--Sticking to network biz is definitely profitable.

--Passing NT line to someone (like IBM) is great for the product line.

--Getting rid of NT all together and moving to Linux is a great move..

--Dumping Cray can only be positive.
