<The confrontation strategy didn't work ... neither does the current 'friends with MSFT approach' ... the next few weeks of decisions and positions from our new CEO will probably provide the clues we need to see if we should push for a buyout ... or renew our faith.

I'll be watching closely.>

BP,
Thanks for taking the time. Great post. Some of the thoughts you expressed in your post re explosive server growth, server throughput, and the need for "mission critical" quality directory services (of which there is currently only one, NDS) really summarize the way I have looked at this investment for a long time. I still think the majority of the investment community is totally ignorant of the technology lead Novell actually has. The potential for us is really strong and I have not, and am not, giving up on making a big hit with this stock.

There is one thing that bothers me though, and that is getting too close to MSFT with NDS. They have no qualms about copying anything, and then daring you to fight them. In a way, you could look at NDS as the "Windows" of the late 80's, early 90's. MSFT is going to have their hands really full developing a fully functional, high throughput directory into NT, whatever version. We don't want to make it easy for them to co-opt. I think Mr. Scmidt will be a big help in the decision making process in this area.

Again, thanks for the very informative and well written post.
