G'day all - Jim, according to one of the PRs, Canadian NT is going to split today biz.yahoo.com {excerpt below] Nortel Networks' common shares are expected to commence trading on a post-dividend basis on August 13, 1999 on the Canadian stock exchanges and on August 20, 1999 on the New York and London stock exchanges. incidentally, got an explanation from a cyberfriend :) why "stock dividend" [as opposed to "2 for 1 split".] As far as the shareholder is concerned, they are the same. However, from the company's perspective, the latter has to be approved by election. Therefore, the co chose the former to expedite the action best, Bosco best, Bosco
