How many hours will it take for samsung to switch those expensive .18 production facilities over to VC DRAM or something else that people are interested in buying? Samsung is the only - the sole one and only company in the industry that ships rambus 800 at 40ns instead of offering binsplits at 50-53ns, 45ns, and 40ns. Look at the spec sheets at the Micron, LG Semicon, Hitachi, etc. sites. 50ns 800 probably performs about the same as rambus 600 (also 50ns) and rambus 600 couldn't cut it in pcs. Of course we don't know that for sure, rambus is too terrified to release any performance figures for their products. Sorry to be so strident, but your "I know somebody you don't know and he told me" answer to almost any serious question is getting a bit tiresome. The samsung example demonstrates the problem with rambus, not the good news. Regards, Dan
