The Fast ForWord program has a game-like format with animated characters and sound effects that guide children through exercises designed to improve language skills. The four- to eight-week training program is marketed through public schools, speech and language professionals, and the Internet. The company is developing new versions of Fast ForWord for adults and for non-English speakers. Company founders researched the Fast ForWord technology at the universities from which it is licensed. Warburg, Pincus Ventures owns 35%.
