Digital Broadband Applications Corp. and Silicon Stemcell Form Futurevision.com to Develop Interactive Applications
CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Broadband Applications Corp. ("DBAC"), an interactive technology development and marketing company, announced today a partnership with Silicon Stemcell LLC ("SiSTEM"), an Internet incubator, to develop interactive advertising technologies. The new venture is called FutureVision.com ("FutureVision"), taking its name from DBAC's predecessor FutureVision of America ("FVA").

FVA pioneered interactive television applications beginning with a 1992 $100 million test project with Bell Atlantic in Toms River, N.J., that offered the first commercial deployment of digital set-top boxes, MPEG2 encoders and electronic messaging via TV screens. FutureVision.com has inherited the patents for technologies that facilitate interactivity, including allowing customers to access broadcast data files and transmit instructions to a remote location. Its patents also enable micro segmentation by tracking viewer usage, broadcasting targeted information and filtering unauthorized advertising. In addition to covering instant messaging and MP3 markets, FutureVision's patents impact the products and services of a number of leaders in the interactive advertising industry, including Wink, WebTV, WorldGate Comm., Broadcast.com, AOL Inc., Yahoo, Lycos, Excite@home, MP3.com, and Pointcast Inc.
