hdrjr, hello

I don't know if the activity in your area is driven by a specific company. Sometimes seismic is done on "spec", but that's pretty rare, and sometimes company will pool together to get regional seismic work done.

If there hasn't been any scuttlebutt with the farmers/ranchers in the area, you can try the county courthouse records. Any new minerals leases will be a matter of record and can be fairly quickly researched.

Better yet, if you sweet talk the blue haired ladies who work there, they can probably tell you right off which exploration companies are active in your area.
