The problem with India is phones. The infrastructure for hard wired phones is pathetic and is unlikely to be improved much. Softbank in Japan is doing a joint venture with a wireless phone company and Microsoft to do an end run around the local phone company tarriffs. This is the type of solution that is necessary in India for the internet to bloom.
