Bob, "low sulphur #2" has less than .05% sulphur by weight and is suitable for highway use. "Hi sulpur #2" lies between .07-.30% and is not suitable for highway use. Since October 1, 1993, it has been illegal for anybody to in anyway knowingly participate in the use of fuel with sulphur in excess of .05% in highway vehicles--$10,000 or $10 per gallon fine, whichever is greater. The "proposed" restriction is on "non-highway mobile sources," primarily farm, construction, and mining equipment, and the like, and will undoubtedly be in effect by 2004, by which time the new engines of all such equipment must be redesigned to meet the new standards. =+=+=Norm
