Regarding language wars, most Cobol programmers didn't make the switch to C, so don't get hung up on what C++ programmers decided to do about Java. Java is the next ubiquitous language. You don't want to switch ? ok, its your funeral.

For a long time there were two OO languages in wide spread use: Smalltalk and C++. Both had major faults, while Java has manged to bridge the gap between the two. We're talkin' 'bout revolution here so everyone should go back and re-read their "Structure of Scientific Revolutions" by Kuhn.

I hear that Jbuilder's official release isn't scheduled until 3Q97. Although Symantec's VisualCafe is unuseable, I'm concerned that Borland is in danger of offering too much, too late.
