Thom:
Yes, I have a put on AOL that expires in April. I may well take a loss on it. The techs have been showing strength but I am not convinced this will be a big upside move just yet - noone really knows, as usual.
As for perception, yes but it has its limits. I could jump out of a 12 floor window and perceive that I was really flying quite safely and that perception never would change, just end abruptly but not until just past the first floor and all the floors in between on the way.

Reality will close in on AOL one day. You are correct though, the shares enjoy remarkable resiliance. The company will be around for a while to come. It is a bubble. I am bullish on the net but there are better net plays.

Netscape is a first rate company, has the best browser out there but you may be right about Netscape, it has suffered and the pain may well continue.

More power to AOL if it can continue. When internet access, and mighty friendly to use, can be had for so much less than $20/mo - people will discover that simple fact and economics will do its thing.

As for the access problems, there are just so many lines around. AOL can do little to change this fact. It is being worked.

I hear Robotics is working on a modem that transfers data at a remarkable rate over the television cable - heard anything about it?

I'm going to Robotics to have a look around. Regards, Val
