You are assuming that there is a Y2K problem in other people's OS, something that I would disagree. The Y2K scare will not help WRS attract new customers much. The main reason for people to switch from their own OS to VxWorks is because the designs are getting ever more complicated. The features can't be done by a single company. VxWorks offers a solid platform and a lot of other software developers' support. The technical difficulties and time to market are the driving forces behind VxWorks.
