dmf, RE: , where can we get a look at Trillian's charter? I'd like to understand where this is going, especially while we're watching RHAT take off. If you can find the 2 Aug 99 issue of Infoworld, there's a pretty good article on the front page. I don't think that Infoworld archives old issues on their web site, so it won't be there (It's at infoworld.com if you want to give it a try, anyway.) A few quotes to give you the gist: "The genesis of the Trillian Project was an agreement earlier this year between Intel and V.A. Linux Systems to deliver a version of Linux for the high-end IA-64 server and workstation markets." "HP...is contributing operating system kernel expertise..., and SGI is pitching in with operating system and compiler technologies...." "Noticeably absent from the Trillium Project are Caldera and Red Hat Software. However, that does not mean the Linux leaders have been without input. " 'It's not like it launched without us knowing about it. We did contribute a lot during the due diligence process,' [VP-engineering at Caldera] Besser said."
