Microsoft Will Ship Upgraded Windows CE Today

Less than a week after shipping its Windows NT Embedded 4.0 Server, Microsoft is scheduled to release to manufacturing on Friday an upgrade for Windows CE and Platform Builder for embedded applications.

The release of the embedded operating system, version 2.12, sends a clear signal to Microsoft's legion of developers that the pint-sized and modular software is not the forgotten stepchild of embedded-systems design.
