Eric, here is discussion of Smart Card use to make secure transactions with GSM mobile phones. You're probably well familiar with that they are talking about. Mark France Telecom Trials Mobile E-Commerce (08/13/99, 11:45 a.m. ET) By Guy Middleton, TechWeb France Telecom has launched a mobile e-commerce service trial, letting customers purchase goods using a smart card and phone. The company said the service would employ a Motorola StarTac-D handset with an integrated smart card reader.
