Sonny,

This was a decent week in the markets, overall. There were a few scares but I am quite pleased with the results, week over week.

HP and Dell will report next week, and I think I am pretty apprehensive about HP. The last quarter, they came out with a positive surprise for the first time in forever. Was that a fluke or did they turn things around? What with the reorganization and all, it gives me a little anxiety. Dell should meet or beat once again, and it's up to the market to decide whether that's enough. The stock price has done nothing to the upside for a while so maybe that will be enough to move things ahead.

There are lots of new things coming out in the PC side (as opposed to Mac) that will have a cute form factor and be more like appliances, if one is to believe the popular press. I think it's a good idea that's really past due, because a PC scares a lot of people. If the internet is going to fulfill its promise, you have to tap into that part of the population as well.

Interesting and tragic about the Salt Lake City tornado. I heard it was the first tornado since 1968 or something like that. We get tornadoes on a regular basis, some of them quite destructive but most (fortunately) not too bad.

Have a nice weekend. I am planning to, myself. It's starting right now!
