I do not understand the reason why Seagate is not trying to make more money but keeping on lowering the price of its products. Based on the experience, to get rid of competition by lowering the price is not going to be successful. Due to the price war, most of the competitors for SEG are losing money. Their market cap's are shrunk quit a bit recently. Even if one of the company may go out of business, some rich guy in this world would buy it since the bankrupt company is so cheap in value (and it is still a good company). So, the dead competitor will be alive again very soon, and it will become a much more powerful competitor for Seg since the new company will not have any financial burden any more.

I just can not figure out what is the logic behind this price war. Can someone give me a good reason for it. Thanks.
