I've read enough of his posts to know that he 1) is a patriot, i.e. respects the USA and its ideals, and 2) is mighty peeved at some of its leadership's horrific and atrocious foreign policies. The sort of thing that gets such patchy coverage in our domestic news that very few people realize about bullshit like what we did in Cuba, Nicaragua ... the Philippines. So I'm confident that Steve loves the USA and would like to see her behave better. I would also - imo our foreign policy drips of hypocrisy. Part of that is a flaw of our revolving-door Gov't and part is a lasting institutional belief that what's good for the USA is good for the world.
