The Securities and Exchange Commission charged a publicly-traded Las Vegas, Nev., company on Friday with making false claims to have virtually eliminated the AIDS-causing HIV virus in patients.
At the same time, the U.S. Attorney's office in Manhattan said it arrested Alfred Flores, a convicted felon who headed a subsidiary of the OTC Bulletin Board company sued, Uniprime Capital Acceptance Inc. (OTC BB:UPCA - news).

What do you say we check the last PR by the SEC. Was Flores really arrested and in prison as they say? I suspect that a little checking into these statements might be interesting. What if there is no convict names Alfred Flores? What if their whole story falls apart? What if? What if? ... Now I suppose you are going to accept everything the SEC says as true; just because it validates your beliefs.

Add to that my basic distrust of Uncle Sam and I hope that you get my point. IMO anything is possible at this point. I would be very curious to see if there really is a convicted felon named Alfred Flores.

PR says Flores in jail in Colorado, 84-93. At least he was convicted in 1984 and spent 9 years in prison; could be '85 to '94 depending on how the courts worked. Is there a way to check this out? The PR goes on to say that Alfred Flores was convicted of conspiracy to commit financially-motivated murder. Never heard of the crime before but sounds like a federal offense (probably didn't pay his taxes). I don't know how many federal prisons there are in Colorado but it should be possible to verify this story
