hi dotty, I just remembered another thing that was useful for me when I started out, and it comes from Linda Raschke... she said to write down in your notebook the price of the stock you are watching every minute or so (I don't know what kind of quote feed you have but you can do this by hitting "get quote" at you broker's home page). Anyway, you will have a long string of numbers at the end of the day (390 if you conscientiously note it every minute), but more important, you will have an excellent feel for the stock, in just a few days time! I don't do this anymore (I also don't draw charts with ruler and pencil anymore, but the best trader I know who does currencies updates his charts by hand and is absolutely religious about it, and even has a little bowing and mumbled prayer routine beforehand, ok I'm teasing, and shouldn't because the guy has more money than God), BUT when I did do it I learned a lot.
