Sounds like CSCO proved to provide superior service by helping to restore a network crash even through their equipment was not responsible. That can be invaluable.

I know of no detailed explanation yet as to what is causing the MCI debacle, but LU technology failures have been blamed. I believe last year CSCO had failures with the ATT network but it appears the resolution was not as drawn out. I believe the final resolution of this problem will be important for WCOM investors as well as networkers like LU, CSCO, NN, NT etc. Is there an alternative that would have prevented this from happening? Is the NYSE next? NASDAQ? Could you imagine if it lasted 8 days?

Looks like ATT is replacing some of their 3COM equipment with CSCO in their network due to 3COM having network incompatibilites:

Was the LU equipment incompatible with other equipment in the WCOM network?
