Rambus already supplies memory for the what was the dominant game machine until it started using rambus. This won't be the cause of an explosion in rambus sales.

dan,
sorry missed that comment first time thru.

presently nintendo 64 uses 4mb of rdram. nintendo has a little less than 50% of the current game station sales. the new nintendo 2000 will reportedly use 32mb of rdram. that is an eight-fold increase.
sony playstations presently use no rambus rdram. sony's new playstation II uses 32mb of rdram too. this is an entirely new revenue stream. sony has over 50% of the market.
this means rambus gamestation royalty revenues are set to increase by a factor of 16. in addition, worldwide gamestation sales are projected to double over the next coupla years. that increases the royalties by a factor of 32.
gamestations are certainly part of the explosion in my view.
