Livingstone had had over 15 "affairs", visited prostitutes and all kinds of seamy stuff. But thats not the really terrible thing. The worst part is that he thought it was ok for him to head up the republican morality cops even with his past... because he wouldn't get caught. THAT is what people have a problem with almost more than the other stuff. This hypocriticism is so obvious to any objective onlooker why even try to defend this? There is no case that can be made in Livingstones favor to defend this, and when the republicans try they just dig themselves deeper in the hole. Clinton lied under oath about sex... Livingstone lied to the public blatantly about sex by trying for the speakership with his past... same animal.

Taking the role of a morality cop is a bad move in general, its hard to win. Actually I hate to admit this but Falwell carries it off the best as anyone I have seen... he appears to be squeaky clean and doesn't come of as mean spirited, but it is a very fine line... Delay seems nasty, "holyer than thou"... then theres Livingstone, Gingrich etc. that arent angels so what do you do? Republicans backed themselves into a corner with that platform thats for sure.
