Actually, it's TiVo. They provide a technology that enables you to store television content on a hard drive allowing the viewer to stop live action and fast forward. This provides a way for a viewer to actually skip commercials altogether. The problem is, they are being sued because the content providers (several were named in the story, including Disney and Discovery Comm.) claim (and rightfully so, I might add) that they own that content and it's the advertiser's fees that pay for it. TiVo will be forced to work out a plan to pay the content providers compensation IMO. ACTV's masterplan is much more friendly towards the content providers and an advertiser's dream. That's why it will be a huge success.
